Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by slicing the beef thinly against the grain. Wash and cut the broccoli into even florets. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Cooking

  • In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the beef slices. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
  • In the same pan, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the pan and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp.
  • Return the cooked beef to the pan with the broccoli. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir well to combine, ensuring the beef and broccoli are evenly coated. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat everything through.
  • Season the stir-fry with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over a bed of cooked rice.

Notes

For best texture, ensure the oil is hot before adding the beef. Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent steaming. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
