Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ¼ cup orange juice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, light, and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well combined before adding the next one. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the dried cranberries, orange zest, and orange juice until evenly distributed.
  • Using rounded tablespoons, drop the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 6 to 7 minutes until the edges are lightly browned but the centers seem soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened but not melting for optimal texture. Avoid overmixing the dough after adding flour to prevent tough cookies. Look for lightly browned edges with soft centers for perfect results.
